How Do I Schedule A “Bulk Waste” Pick-Up
Nationally, last year’s winter weather was the 8th most severe in recorded history and as a result, salt companies have exhausted all stock piled reserves of salt. This has caused a supply and demand problem which has resulted in extremely difficult delivery of salt and significant cost increases to all end users. The City has been fortunate enough to receive a quote for road salt. Although it is a significant increase, the City will not be paying the market price as are other cities.
City crews will be plowing snow through residential subdivisions, however, the distribution of salt will be minimal except in those critical areas listed below.
Although there will be a limited application of salt, the Service Department will use appropriate measures to ensure the continuance of safety to our citizens.
Please be aware that during a snow event all cars parked on the street should be removed so that the snow plow can clear the road. Please remember to use extreme caution when traveling during hazardous conditions.
Maintain all City storm water infrastructures such as catch basins, storm sewers, drainage ditches, culverts, certain bridges and other related areas.
Each year, the City of Riverside undertakes the rehabilitation/reconstruction or replacement of portions of its infrastructure. This includes streets, storm sewers, snow and ice control and, to a lesser degree, public building improvements and replacement of the vehicles and equipment responsible for maintaining the infrastructure.
